MEMBERSHIP MATTERS Florence V. Davis, (Br 7) Membership Chair The most pressing membership matter right now is the fairly large number of members who have not yet paid their dues for the current year. It's easy to understand how that happens. The dues renewal notice comes in your copy of News Notes and you put it aside, intending to write a check and mail it in. But before you get that task done, other things come up and a pile of "To Dos" has taken over your desktop. So please, would you stop reading right now and look at your checkbook. If you've sent in a check for this year's dues, great! Go back to reading. But if you haven't, please sit down right now and send a check to our Treasurer, Dalton VV. along with the dues renewal notice that's in this issue. Thank you all so much for doing that. We all need to remember how urgent it is to draw new members into the NAVVF as well. Many of the wonderful VVs who started this organization have gone to be with God. And a lot of the rest of us are slowing down with age. We need to enlist our children and their children. What better way to introduce them to NAVVF than to bring them to this summer's reunion in Denver, CO? Beautiful scenery, lots of fun things to do, and a chance to meet cousins you never knew you had. I hope I see you there!

From: Diane Nielsen I am looking for information on Sarah Elizabeth Van Valkenburg, b 23 April 1845. She is my great-great-grandmother. Her father is George Van Valkenburg, born about 1822 married 1st to Leah and 2nd to Julie. He also had sons William L, b 14 May 1850 and Willis. Other names that I think may be connected are John Van Valkenburg married to Sarah, children Helena Anna, b 14 July 1819, and William C Bauck VanValkenburg, b 29 May 1823. Sure would like to find out who else is researching this family. |
